1. Eligibility

To participate in the Affiliate Program you must:

  • Have a ScrapeNest account in good standing (not suspended, no chargeback history).
  • Be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
  • Provide a verified PayPal email before your first payout, so we have somewhere to send the money.
  • Not be a current or former employee of ScrapeNest, nor an immediate family member of one.

We may decline any application at our discretion. Internal API accounts (used by ScrapeNest itself) cannot accrue commission.

2. Commissions

Commission rates are paid as a percentage of recurring subscription revenue from referred customers, for as long as the referred customer remains an active paying subscriber:

PlanPriceYour commission
Starter$29 / mo30% = $8.70 / mo
Growth$99 / mo25% = $24.75 / mo
Pro$249 / mo25% = $62.25 / mo
Scale$599 / mo20% = $119.80 / mo

Commission applies to base subscription revenue only. It does not apply to credit top-ups, custom enterprise contracts, refunds, taxes, or annual-billed discounts beyond their monthly-equivalent.

If a referred customer changes plans, the commission rate switches to the new plan's rate at the start of the next billing period.

3. Attribution

  • Window: a visitor must sign up within 60 days of clicking your link to be attributed to you.
  • Last-click wins: if a visitor clicked multiple affiliates' links, the most recent click before signup is credited.
  • One slug per affiliate. You can change your slug once every 90 days. Old slugs stop redirecting immediately on change; clicks on the old URL after a change are dropped.
  • Click filtering: we drop clicks from bots, crawlers, link-preview agents (e.g. Discord, Slack), and headless browsers before counting. Only unique human visits, deduplicated per day per fingerprint, count.

4. Payouts & approval

  • Hold period: commissions move from pending to payable 30 days after the customer's payment clears, to allow for refund/dispute windows.
  • Minimum payout: $30 in payable commissions. Amounts below this roll over to the next month.
  • Manual approval: all payouts require explicit administrator approval before any money moves. We may delay or hold a payout for additional review at our discretion.
  • Payment method: PayPal only. Add your PayPal email from your affiliate dashboard. Approved payouts are sent manually to that address. We do not pay via cryptocurrency, wire transfer, gift cards, or check.
  • Cadence: approved payouts are typically released on the 1st of each month for the prior calendar month, but timing is not guaranteed and depends on review queue volume.

5. Clawbacks & chargebacks

  • Refund within 30 days: if the referred customer is refunded before their commission is moved to payable, the commission is cancelled. No clawback of already-paid funds is needed because we hold for 30 days for exactly this reason.
  • Chargebacks & disputes: always claw back the full commission for the disputed cycle, regardless of how much time has passed. If the chargeback is later reversed in your favour, the commission is reinstated.
  • Two or more chargebacks against referrals from a single affiliate flag the account for review. We may freeze pending payouts during review.

6. Permitted & prohibited promotion

Permitted: organic content (blog posts, tutorials, videos, social media, podcasts), genuine reviews of ScrapeNest, code samples, fair comparisons, paid ads on platforms that allow affiliate marketing.

Prohibited:

  • Bidding on scrapenest, scrapenest.dev, or close variations in search-engine paid ads.
  • Unsolicited email or DM spam, including cold email campaigns to people who haven't consented.
  • Fake reviews, fake testimonials, or pretending to be a ScrapeNest employee.
  • Bot or automated traffic of any kind, including click-farming, paid clicks, and incentivized clicks (e.g. "click this for a prize").
  • Promoting ScrapeNest in connection with illegal scraping, terms-of-service violations of the target sites, or any of the activities prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Misrepresenting features, pricing, refund policies, or any other material aspect of the product.
  • Coupon-aggregator websites, deal-stacking schemes, or any promotion that requires the referred customer to take action after signup (e.g. enter a code, submit a form) to get credit.

Violation of these rules results in immediate slug suspension and forfeiture of any pending commissions.

7. Anti-fraud & self-referral

The following are automatically blocked or flagged and may result in commission forfeiture and account termination:

  • Self-referral: signing up a second account through your own link. Detected by IP match, payment-method match, or email-domain match at signup time.
  • Family, household, or coworker fraud: referring accounts that you control, share a household with, or that you have a direct business relationship with where the spirit of the referral program is being abused.
  • Burst patterns: a sudden cluster of referrals from a single source that look automated or coordinated.
  • High-refund cohorts: if >30% of your referrals refund within their first 30 days, your account enters manual review and pending commissions may be held indefinitely.

We reserve the right to investigate suspicious patterns and to require additional verification before releasing payouts.

8. Tax reporting

You are responsible for reporting affiliate income according to the tax laws of the jurisdiction where you reside. If your aggregate earnings in a calendar year meet or exceed a reporting threshold under applicable law (e.g. $600 for US persons, IRS Form 1099-NEC), we may request a completed W-9 (US) or W-8BEN (non-US) before issuing further payouts and may issue an information return where required.

ScrapeNest does not provide tax advice. Consult your tax adviser for questions about your specific situation.

9. Termination

  • You can leave the program at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will pay out any approved & payable balance on the next normal cycle.
  • We may suspend or terminate your participation for any violation of these terms, fraud, prohibited promotion, or at our reasonable discretion. Pending and unapproved commissions may be forfeit. Already-paid commissions are not clawed back unless they are tied to chargebacks or proven fraud.
  • If your underlying ScrapeNest account is banned, all pending commissions are forfeit.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes (rates, payout schedule, prohibited-promo categories) require us to give at least 14 days' notice by email to active affiliates and a notice in the affiliate dashboard before they take effect. Non-material clarifications take effect immediately. The version number at the top of this page is bumped on any change.
